out in the open

FILED IN: Uncategorized

don’t keep them boxed up, all tidy and put away. that’s not where they belong

but out, out in the open and arranged in the most unarranged, natural way. the way they were left after a mad moment of love and creativity.

that’s the place your feelings and ideas belong, your dreams and plans you keep stashing away.

there might be seasons we don’t have time nor space, but they’re never meant to be restrained in hiding.

let them out, let them breathe, let them be  the pulse your heart needs.

for me, I work best when they are sprawled out in unlikely places and laying in piles, ready to be seen if even with the subconscious eye. and it keeps my heart going, that big, ever growing creative side of my heart that really is my all.

so that’s what I’m going to do, tonight and tomorrow and the rest of this week.

when I have a moment for my creative mind, they won’t be quickly cleaned up and packed away. but I’ll rip out pages and write over more, and tape them to my walls and journals and anywhere else.

they’ll be there and so will I, ready to make some magic when we have our moment again.

– some thoughts after talking with a good friend about keeping creative mediums and pieces at hand. though our items and inspiration might have to be packed away somes time for some reason, our hearts shouldn’t be. our hearts need them and they need us. when we allow them some space we in turn give space to ourselves. we reignite and provide opportunity for our ideas to flourish .
