chanel cover SS18

My heart skipped more than once as I watched it. The magic of riding the passion of anticipation had already happened the first time through, but nonetheless I pressed replay. Two more times. I wasn’t ready to let it end and I wanted more.

*obs. Photos are not my own and are found via the Chanel Official Instagram or website.

Chanel spring – summer 2018 fashion show on the netflix series ‘7 days out’
#ss18 collection

here’s a fun video of why this collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld and story of how it all came to life was so exciting.
…and a couple pics of my favorites.

my pen is now in my hand and I’m putting the feelings to paper. I was not sat along the runway, but let me just say; it was magical.
and this is what I felt and the world it sent me into:

oh, the emotion.
the nervousness;
the passion.

it’s living in the sequined flowers hand-stitched in hundreds of places over the skirts and in the ostrich feathers bouncing with every step.

the models wear chin-length veils with small bouquets on their heads. there are bright silk ribbons that pass the length of their skirts.

open collars showing off the neck, exquisite lines curving into the hips and angled pockets placed just below the chest.

i love it because of the life, because of the passion that seems to hold its breath as the time comes to start;

to send all of the hours of work out walking,

to stop all of the last minute trimming and adjusting

and to trust in the pieces and let them fly.

Amanda and the stage manager hype the models up before sending them out when their minute strikes time.

it’s a moving symphony walking through the audience.
all of the feelings happening backstage and mid runway make a full circle when the last model returns and the finale immediately begins.

Deadlines… “when you’re up against it you produce your best work” – Amanda Harlech
