I’m so inspired by the culture that is Chanel.
*Obs. photos are not my own and belong to the Chanel Official website.
It is romantic, it is intense, pulling on literary prose and people.
Weaving artistic visuals into the fabric and beads.
There’s just so much passion and intention in each detail that goes into
this moment of eleven minutes;
and then it’s over, and I’m left imagining the empty hall, savoring and reliving the experience all over again.
I’ve simply curated my favorites into a visual journal. *
CHANEL Spring Summer 2022 Haute Couture
by Virginie Viard
The set was designed by modern artist Xavier Veilhan.
Coils of seats seamlessly roll into somewhere and others at a clean edge stop.
Floating cylinders and spheres rotate around the stage that also blends into an equestrian course.
And so the show begins, Charlotte Casiraghi enters riding a gorgeous chocolate horse;
the soft gallop the only sound we hear until it dissipates into ethereal ringing.
Each beautiful model carries magical pieces down the runway before an audience of great admirers. I imagine the smells, the feel of the soft satin and flowing feathers that float everywhere but down.
Virginie’s designs are purely Chanel and infused with her own voice:
softly feminine with edgy touches.
a heavily shadowed eye and sharp cat eyes. droopy oversized bows hug the waist, delicate beading, and metallics mirror that in the ethereal music by Sebastian Tellier.
I love it.
