Max Mara Fall Winter 2022

Fashion Month happened – New York, Milan and then Paris, Fall Winter 2022 collections from my favorite designers have already been down the runway. It came and happened in a gust of inspiration, much like creative minds do, leaving colors and textures of excitement for the season to come.

Bombs are dropping in Ukraine and people are hiding in subway tunnels as their homes and lives are being destroyed.

I’d been waiting for these weeks; New York, Milan, Paris next. It’s inspiration to the max for my soul and I’m here watching it all in bits throughout the day and on repeat in the midnight hours.

It’s gorgeous. I’m living the thrill of the shows, but I feel the darkness of the war out there. It’s been a dark several years with pandemic, hatred and wars, and now yet another darkness strikes.

“it’s your art that has kept you alive” – he told me.

I hear the words that one told me not just once, and I find pleasure and the permission to stay here while it lasts. It’s not vain, it’s beauty. It’s art that can hopefully give us what we so desperately need; life.

art – some make it, but all of us need it.

Here’s a little visual diary of my favorite looks from MaxMara, a collection of warmth with ankle length puffer vests, thigh-high knitted socks and roll necks that just keep going. The quilted pants and dresses make me want to try styling these looks just a bit longer, despite how long I’ve been wishing Chicago winter away.
