jacquemus ss21 L’amour

Obs* photos are not my own and belong to Jacquemus.com – this is simply a visual diary of my curated inspiration

oh, the hope i feel when another keeps creating beauty although it seems to have come to an end. someone was still feeling, staying alive by creating art.

this is what i felt when when i watched the Jacquemus ss21 L’amour show. I felt a sense of hope, inspiration and passion. I saw that, despite the struggle life in 2020 has been, Jacquemus was designing and fighting against all odds for this collection to take life.

and what a show it was. he brought us together to a wheat field to give us some beauty after months that seemed to be deprived of it. each chair was plopped right into the wheat stalks, perfectly placed at a social distance on either side of the wooden runway snaking through the fields.

i felt freedom and happiness, and the simple pleasure of summer picnics.
each model carried a look down the runway together with a necessity in tow: white plates carried in leather straps, padded pillows that are also large purses, tiny knives and forks hanging from blazers, oblong bags for bottles and berries, and of course, the cult mini purses with oversized straps.

pieces were worn slightly incorrectly in the most perfect way, buttons were undone and shirts were twisted. shirts were loose fitting, skirts were intimate and casually chic. i love it, i love the intentions and attention to the feelings he wanted to express.
