Hermès Spring Summer 2023

A little journal entry I wrote in my Vogue magazine while on our flight home back in October. I finally found some minutes to capture some ideas with the boost of inspiration France had given me. Paris, a place I had loved, but never knew I’d end up longing for for that rush of creativity. We started our trip in the city of lights and made our way down to Bordeaux for the rest of it; only I requested to make a quick change to return for our last night, just to feel Paris one more time. <3

We left Charles du Gaul airport some 20 minutes ago. Our 1.5 year old is sleeping in the bassinet, our 4 year old is entertained with Frozen, and we finally have time to sit, the two of us, undisturbed for the first time on our whole trip – which happens to be on our flight home. A couple of days ago, I wrote about the whirlwind of jet lag and toddlers recovering from colds and RSV is a new level of struggle.

From Paris to Bordeaux, they were ready to play until the wee night hours, then coughed the rest of it until crashing around 2am. Nights were miserable, but, trying to find some optimistic hope for our days ahead, my husband and I decided that if we’re going to have a rough week, at least we’ll do it in France.

One of the first things I did in Paris was grab a France edition of Vogue, loved every  page and was actually able to read some of the French thanks to two months of lessons. And now, I’m writing these words on the pages of my US edition, next to Anna Wintour’s and Prada eternal gold jewelry ads. My journals got left behind in checked luggage.

This post is a collaboration with a lifelong friend of mine, Hannah. I thought it would be fun to share our favorite looks and details that we were sending each other during fashion week. She jumped on my idea as soon as I asked her, sending me screenshots and notes minutes later. I felt guilty that I wasn’t as quick, but honestly, as soon as I felt I’d found momentum, I got knocked down by the overwhelming waves of motherhood. No school days, no-show babysitters, sicknesses cycling through the home. As my vision and direction for my passion grows, so does my frustration – that feeling of knowing what I want to be doing but having both of my arms full. I know this is downing for most, but I want to be real and share the not-so-pretty part that I fought through to get today’s post ready for publish.
So here it is, some handfuls of photos and thoughts on Hermès Spring Summer 2023.

Enjoy!
